Tracking Number
Tracking numbers let you measure the performance of your direct mail campaigns by capturing every call and text response that comes in from your mailers. Each number acts as a unique identifier for a specific campaign, so you can see exactly which leads came from which mailing.
What Is a Tracking Number?
A tracking number is a dedicated phone line assigned to your direct mail campaign. When your recipients call or text that number, the message is automatically forwarded to your chosen business phone and email.
By using unique numbers for each campaign, you can:
Measure response rates for calls and texts
Identify top-performing campaigns or target areas
Maintain a clean separation of lead sources
Review conversations and engagement directly in your dashboard
How Tracking Numbers Work
Number Assignment – You (or the OLC team) can select a tracking number that matches your local area code.
Call and SMS Forwarding – All calls are automatically redirected to your business line, and texts appear in your OLC Inbox (with optional email notifications).
Activity Tracking – Every inbound call and message is logged in real time and visible under Tracking Analytics on your dashboard.
Campaign Insights – You can review total responses, call duration, message logs, and conversion rates per mailer.
Setting Up a Tracking Number
If you are an OLC Customer, you can manage and add tracking numbers directly in your account:
Go to your OLC Dashboard → Tracking Numbers

Click Add New

Name the line using this format: [Client Name] - [Order Number] - release [MM/DD/YYYY] (Example: Kayla Bragg - 407786 - release 3/23/2027)
Enter your forwarding number and SMS forwarding email.
Search for a number using your area code and select from available options.
Click Activate Tracking Number.
Once activated, use the assigned number on your direct mail pieces. All calls and messages to that number will appear in your tracking analytics automatically.
