### How the Integration Works

Once installed, the **Open Letter Connect app** integrates directly with your Shopify store and syncs with **Shopify Flow** for automation.

#### The Simple Flow

1. A customer performs an action in your Shopify store (places an order, abandons a cart, or reaches a milestone).
2. **Shopify Flow** triggers a connected OLC workflow.
3. **Open Letter Connect** automatically sends a personalized mailer such as a postcard, letter, or real penned note.
4. You can view and track all mail activity in your **OLC Dashboard**, including delivery scans and QR code engagement.

No manual uploads. No minimum orders. Just seamless automation.

### Getting Started

#### Step 1: Install Open Letter Connect

1. Log in to your **Shopify Admin**.
2. Go to the **Shopify App Store** and search for **Open Letter Connect**.
3. Click **Install App** and follow the prompts to connect your Shopify store with OLC.<br>

#### Step 2: Set Up Shopify Flow

1. In your Shopify Admin, go to **Automations → Shopify Flow**.
2. Create a new workflow or edit an existing one.\

3. Choose a **Trigger**, such as:

   * Order Created
   * Order Fulfilled
   * Checkout Abandoned
   * Customer Created

4. Add an **Action** step and select **Open Letter Connect**.
5. Choose your mail type:
   * Postcard
   * Personal Letter
   * Professional Letter

#### Step 3: Customize Your Mailer

1. Map fields from Shopify to OLC (for example, *Customer Name*, *Address*, *Order ID*).
2. Choose or create your mail template inside **Open Letter Connect**.
3. Optionally, [add a **QR code** or **UTM parameters**](https://help.openletterconnect.com/olc-help-docs/product-and-order-guide/creating-a-template/qr-codes-and-campaign-tracking) to track engagement.
4. Save and activate your workflow.

Once active, mailers will automatically be created and sent based on your Shopify Flow triggers.

#### Step 4: Track and Manage Campaigns

After your workflow is live, OLC automatically updates mail statuses:

* **Processing** – Mail is being printed.
* **Mailed** – USPS has accepted the mail.
* **Delivered** – Confirmed delivery to the recipient.

You can view mailer data and tracking scans in your **OLC Dashboard** under **Orders** or **Campaigns**.

### Best Practices

* **Start Small:** Test with one trigger such as “Order Fulfilled” before expanding.
* **Add QR Codes:** Combine physical mail with digital tracking for better campaign results.
* **Use Personalized Messaging:** Reference order history or first names to make mail more meaningful.
* **Monitor Delivery:** Use your OLC dashboard to view delivery status and response rates.

### Troubleshooting

If mailers are not being sent:

* Check that your **Shopify Flow workflow** is active.
* Confirm that the trigger and action conditions are correct.
* Make sure your **OLC account** is connected and your wallet has enough funds.
