Tracking Analytics Overview
Data Accuracy and Update Frequency
Tracking data is updated in real time as USPS scan events are received and processed.
Occasionally, delays may occur if USPS scans are batched or if there are postal service disruptions.
Delivery statuses marked as "Delivered" indicate the mailpiece was scanned by USPS as out for delivery, which may be before the recipient physically receives the mail (see detailed explanation below).
Important Notes on Delivery Status Interpretation
USPS scanning usually occurs when mail is loaded on the delivery truck. Many carriers do not scan at the exact moment of physical delivery, so there may be a delay of a few days between the system showing "Delivered" and the mailpiece arriving with the recipient.
The status "Delivered" should be understood as "Out for delivery" or "Delivery scan received," not necessarily confirmed receipt.
Missing scans or "Not Scanned" status can happen and do not always mean lost mail. USPS scanning is not perfect and some mailpieces may not be scanned at every step.
Returned mail indicates a delivery failure due to address issues or recipient refusal.
Using Delivery Tracking Analytics
Use these metrics to assess the reliability of your mailing list and lead sources. High delivery and scan rates indicate better data quality.
Tracking helps identify issues such as high return rates or undeliverable addresses to clean your lists and improve campaign ROI.
Refer to the Delivery Status Explanation above to communicate realistic expectations to your clients regarding timing and scan interpretations.
QR Code Tracking and Lead Quality
Every mailpiece includes a unique QR code personalized for each contact.
QR scan data is collected and integrated into your dashboard analytics.
This tracking allows you to see which recipients engaged with the mailer, providing insight into lead responsiveness and quality.
Combine physical delivery data with QR engagement to optimize targeting and messaging strategies.
